This place was amazing. We were across the street at the salvage store waiting for it to open. My wife was skeptical when I told her I wanted to give it a try.
You know it's authentic when the staff doesn't speak any English :-) Long story short, the pastries in this place were decadent and very well priced.
Go out on a limb and give it a try.
Cash only, no bathrooms, and oh so worth it. -

It is better than "as good as it gets". Bakeries like this are a rarity and before it disappears, just get yourself there and enjoy! Traditional, lovely lady who runs the place. Everything is just like if your grandmother baked it for the holidays. The bakegoods have flavor and hints of sweetness or just enough. I cannot wait to get back there.

I saw on another site that this place might be closed? But I was there last week so maybe it changed names? Regardless, I swing by here each time I'm on my way to Circa across the street. I pick up a bag of sweet bread. Last time were these amazing mini custard tarts. Staffed by what I would guess are Portuguese mothers, english skills are sparse but it doesn't make a difference. They're all ridiculously sweet and each time I've gone in there I get offered a little something extra to go with my purchase. I just wish my Portuguese grandmother taught me the language! It would've come in handy for my bakery visits.
